Big 12 Picks: Week 5
January 31, 2016
Last week was weird, because of the Big 12/SEC Challenge. Chris went 5-0 and Ryan went 4-1 in Big 12 picks.
We’ll count those games to our overall record, but not the SEC challenge games, because we’re only tallying up our picks in conference play. This week brought Chris up to 32-8 on the year and Ryan is now 29-11.
For the record, Chris went 7-3 and Ryan went 8-2 in our Big 12/SEC Challenge picks. This week, it’s back to Big 12 play. Here are our picks:
Feb. 1
Texas at Baylor
Chris: Give me Shaka Smart and the Longhorns getting a HUGE road win against Baylor.
Ryan: I’ll stick with Baylor, but only because they’re the home team.
Feb. 2
TCU at Oklahoma
Chris: Buddy Hield at home. Check mate.
Ryan: What Chris said.
West Virginia at Iowa State
Chris: I think Iowa State takes care of business on its home court. Press Virginia will make it fun, though.
Ryan: This one will be closer than fans think. Iowa State will sneak away with a win here.
Feb. 3
Kansas State at Kansas
Chris: Rock Chalk Jayhawk at home.
Ryan: Only Kansas wins at the Phog — well most of the time. But they’ll beat Kansas State here..
Oklahoma State at Texas Tech
Chris: Sticking with the home team once again. I’ll take the Red Raiders here.
Ryan: Tubby Smith will get things done at home. Without a doubt.
Feb. 6
Kansas at TCU
Chris: Kansas has been the best in the Big 12 for years. TCU, well, has not. Give me Kansas again.
Ryan: No way Kansas falls to TCU. Not a chance.
Iowa State at Oklahoma State
Chris: Cyclones go on the road, and come back with a win. Despite a slip up against the SEC’s Texas A&M, Iowa State continues to roll in Big 12 play.
Ryan: The Cyclones wont stumble here — at least they shouldn’t. Iowa State will pick up a big road win in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Texas Tech at Texas
Chris: Similar to Iowa State, after a rough start Texas keeps rolling here.
Ryan: Hook ’em.
Oklahoma at Kansas State
Chris: Buddy Hield.
Ryan: Once again, what Chris said.
Baylor at West Virginia
Chris: Here’s a fun one, but I’ll go with West Virginia. That makes for a rough week for Baylor.
Ryan: If played on a neutral court, I wouldn’t be able to pick a winner. But the Mountaineers will take this one at home.
