The Maintenance Shop will host the fifth annual Ames Winter Classic on Thursday to showcase a variety of local musical talent on Iowa State University’s campus.

The Classic will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. in The Maintenance Shop, located in the Memorial Union.

The show will feature a performance of Mumford’s, as well as special guests TWINS, Pelvis and Kickstart the Sun.

According to the Student Activities Center, Mumford’s, which released an album in 2013, “began as a solo project in the summer of 2008 and has expanded into a wild freak-folk storyteller dance band with a horn section.”

The site continues, “the songs always have a strong emphasis on storytelling and character development and use a variety of voices and instrumentation to bring across specific characters and circumstances.”

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
