Cliff Keen Invitational: Day two

ISU wrestling completed day two of the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, Saturday.

As a team the Cyclones finished the tournament tied for 19, out of 40. They also had two guys standing on the podium at the end of the tournament.

The No. 6 seed at 165-pounds, Tanner Weatherman, finished seventh. Earl Hall, the No. 5 seed at 133-pounds, had the best finish of any Cyclone, finishing fourth.

Hall lost to the defending national champion at 133-pounds, Cory Brewer, from Oklahoma, 12-5 in the semifinals. In the third place match, Hall lost to No. 6 seed George Dicamillo.

Weatherman lost in the round of 16 to Tyrel White. In the consolation semifinals, Weatherman lost again to wrestle for seventh or eighth. He pinned the No. 2 seed, Cooper Moore, in 46 seconds to secure seventh place.

Dante Rodriguez, Lelund Weatherspoon and Dane Pestano all lost early in the day in their consolation bracket and were ousted from the tournament.
