Police investigating racial threat

Iowa State and Ames police are investigating an early Thursday morning incident where an individual made derogatory racial comments and implied he had a knife to another person before running away.
The incident took place at approximately 5:20 a.m. on Thursday morning in the area of Storm Street and Welch Avenue, which is near the Wallace and Wilson residence halls south of ISU’s central campus, according to a release from ISU PD.
The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a dark coat, possibly red in color, dark jeans, some type of stocking cap, and white tennis shoes, according to the release.
Ames and ISU Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. Anyone with information about the incident should call ISU Police at 515-294-4428.
