PHOTOS: Iowa State goes 1-1 in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament

Freshman outside hitter Jess Schaben tips the ball around the Miami (FL) blockers. Iowa State defeated Miami in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with scores of 25-21, 26-24 and 25-20. Schaben had a .389 hitting percentage in the match with 16 kills on Thursday.

Iowa State traveled to Madison, Wisc. to play Miami (FL) in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament. The Cyclones defeated the Hurricanes in a 25-21, 26-24, 25-20 sweep on Dec. 3. The win allowed Iowa State to play Wisconsin in the second round on Dec. 4, but fell short in the 25-18, 25-15, 25-21 loss. This concluded the Iowa State volleyball season as they were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament.
