November 11, 2015
The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Tornado Watch, which includes Story County until 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Thunderstorms will move into central Iowa later this afternoon. Damaging winds are the primary threat, with gusts up to 60 mph possible, but hail and tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
A high wind warning is also in effect from 9 p.m. Wednesday night until 6 a.m. Thursday morning.
A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for the formation of severe thunderstorms capable of producing a tornado.
