Andrew McMahon announced Monday morning that his breakthrough act, Jack’s Mannequin, would be reuniting for a short reunion tour in early 2016 to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the band’s first album, “Everything in Transit.”

McMahon retired the name “Jack’s Mannequin” at the end of 2012 after a pair of shows in Los Angeles.

“I foresee an end to the usage of the name. I don’t know that it’s doing for me what it used to, in the sense that Jack’s sort of really represented a freedom from something,” McMahon said in early 2012.

In July of 2014, McMahon announced his newest musical project, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. The group’s self-titled first album was released in October of 2014 with lead single, “Cecilia and the Satellite,” which peaked at #5 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart.

“I will be the first to admit, I prefer keeping my focus in the present, but I cannot deny Transit’s place in my life and the lives of my fans,” McMahon’s official press release said.

The “10 Years in Transit” tour will visit these cities:

12/31 – Anaheim, CA @ House of Blues*

1/20 – San Francisco, CA @ Regency Ballroom

1/22 – Denver, CO @ Ogden Theatre

1/23 – Lawrence, KS @ The Granada Theater
