Productivity During the Holidays
November 25, 2015
As much as lounging away Thanksgiving or winter break sounds like the dream, there is so much to accomplish and prepare for. No matter how much it is denied, finals are fast approaching and taking a few hours out of Thanksgiving break could make them so much easier.
Being productive during break may seem impossible but there are some ways to combat the lazy urges.
Kick off break by sitting down and making a list of goals. Outline what needs to be accomplished and make a to-do list to make your goals possible. Try to pick reasonable goals that can be accomplished in the span of the break. Also throw in some fun to your list. Putting nap time with the cat is completely acceptable for a to-do list.
Create a reward system to help the to-do list seem easier. Pick a favorite snack or activity as a reward for every goal that is achieved from the list.
If wanting to work towards a career, some companies offer internships that only span the duration of winter break. This is a prime opportunity to gain real world experience and gain a quick look into a new company.
Speaking of internships, break time is the perfect opportunity to research internships to pursue for the next semester or summer! Trying to plan out a summer internship is time consuming and needs full attention. Balancing summer internship plans with classes is overwhelming so using break time is a great time to plan.
Being productive over a break from school can be a challenge but preparing ahead can make the spring semester so much easier.
