As if there weren’t enough options to choose from already, the addition of Campustown Spirit offers more variety of students’ favorite cardinal and gold.

The new retailer is located at 2320 Lincoln Way, just past the 23 Twenty apartment complex.

It opened for business in August, but its official grand opening was Wednesday. From 12 to 1 p.m. The store is celebrating the rest of this week with free drinks, snacks and prizes through Friday.

Prizes include a 50-inch TV, $100 gift card, $25 gift card and discounts off merchandise. The store also offers a 20 percent off one item coupon on the back of its grand opening flyer, which is accepted through Friday as well.

The store is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekend hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Campustown Spirit prides itself as being part of Cyclone power.

“We felt like Iowa State was a school with a lot of spirit and wanted to be a part of it,” Kathy Leslie, assistant store manager, said.

Campustown Spirit’s merchandise is ideal tailgating apparel with its casual aesthetic and classic logos. The range of products includes T-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, sweatpants, hats, scarves, socks and more for men, women, children and even dogs. Aside from apparel, blankets, stuffed animals, water bottles and a variety of snacks are available.

“We have officially licensed products, well-known brands and offer quality materials,” Leslie said. “That’s what sets us apart.”
