David Ramirez and Dylan LeBlanc to perform at Vaudeville Mews
October 20, 2015
Americana artists David Ramirez and Dylan LeBlanc will perform at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines, Iowa.
Tickets for the show are still available at tikly.co for $13. Attendees must be 21 or older.
Hailing from Austin, Texas, solo artist Ramirez released his newest album ‘Fables’ in August, and he is currently touring in support of the album.
Ramirez wrote the album following the realization that he needed to be honest with both himself and his girlfriend. He released after a few years’ hiatus following his previous full length album.
LeBlanc, originally from Shreveport, La., is supporting Ramirez on the Fables Tour and is set to release his newest album, Cautionary Tale, in January of 2016. This album is set to be released after a 4-year break following his previous album.
“A lot of the reason this record hasn’t come out is so I can complete my transformation,” LeBlanc said.
After burning out from touring, LeBlanc worked random jobs for a few years. He started to battle alcohol and considered ending his music career altogether.
“I stopped drinking and started asking myself questions,” LeBlanc said. “I was trying to raise awareness.”
LeBlanc had a relapse last October and got into legal trouble, which spurred another try at avoiding alcohol and music.
“This record is a lot about programming and conditioning,” LeBlanc said. “It’s about looking within for answers.”
LeBlanc wanted Cautionary Tale to have a direct message. By performing a number of new songs, LeBlanc is using the tour as an experiment to see how people react to his new music.
