October 4, 2015
As a famous choir group, Iowa State Singers perform wonderful concerts with piano. This Thursday, different as usual, they will give a special feast at 7:30 pm at Stephens Auditorium, cooperated with Kremlin Orchestra, which is founded and led by Misha Rachlevsky and has earned national and international recognition as one of Russia’s leading ensemble.
Tickets are available online from Iowa State Center webpage. Price varies from $25 to $59 depending on seats location from balcony loge seating to third balcony seating. ISU students could have a price at $10 per person.
Chamber Orchestra Kremlin, founded in 1991, the orchestra, comprising some of Russia’s finest young string players, has carved a niche for itself under the creative baton of its founder and music director Misha Rachlevsky.
In 1991, in the heady aftermath of Moscow’s momentous events of August 1991, Mr. Rachlevsky found it impossible to resist an opportunity presented by Claves to record Russian works for this label. When Claves concurred with his suggestion to realize the project with Russian musicians, Rachlevsky called auditions, and Chamber Orchestra Kremlin was created.
“We’re doing two large works.” said Dr. Rodde, the professor of Music and Director of music and Director of Choral Activities of Iowa States, “One of them is Schubert’s Mass in G”” That will sound by two community choirs, the Ames Chamber Artists and Des Moines Choral Society. And there’ll be about a hundred people” This part will conducted by Mr. Rachlevsky, the conductor of Kremlin Orchestra.
“The Mozart’s Vesperae will be sound by Iowa State Singers. It will take about 15 to 20 minutes.” This part is directly conducted by Dr. Rodde.
With nearly a month practice for the Iowa State Singers prepared for this concert, and cooperate with the “well established”Kremlin Orchestra, said Dr. Rodde, “it will be great.”
