Alum Makes His Print on ISU History
October 26, 2015
What do you get when an incredibly talented ISU alum with a knack for unique and memorable designs decides to use his craftsmanship to give back to his alma mater? One unforgettable print.
John Bosley, a 2003 ISU graduate in art and design, has made a name for himself by providing his considerable talents in art, marketing, photography and social media to the RAYGUN t-shirt company.
From conceptualizing the slogans to actually creating the designs, Bosley’s unique blend of culture and quirkiness propelled the popularity of RAYGUN’s designs from 2010 until he left to pursue his own art earlier this year. Bosley has also written and illustrated his own comic books and children’s books, applying both his artistry and imagination.
As one of his first ventures after RAYGUN, Bosley put his craftsmanship to work creating an illustration of the new Jack Trice Stadium south end zone addition. Commissioned by the Iowa State Alumni Association (ISUAA), Bosley employed his clean-cut style to produce an incredible rendition of the instantly iconic architecture.
To promote the print, the ISU Alumni Association will be hosting a meet and greet with Bosley in the Alumni Center on Friday, Oct. 30. Visitors will get to meet Bosley, take pictures with him, and as a special treat, the first 200 patrons will receive a signed and numbered print of the Jack Trice Stadium illustration. You won’t want to miss this incredible opportunity to take home a piece of Iowa State history.
“Working on the limited edition print was a real honor,” Bosley said. “Especially as a proud ISU alum and graduate of the College of Design. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat, and I hope the print resonates with all the fans that I know will proudly display it in their homes, myself included.”
You can meet Bosley and receive a signed copy of the print on Friday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Alumni Center.
