Fashion Week Trends: London, Paris, & Milan
October 11, 2015
From London to Milan to Paris, Fall 2015 fashion weeks were something to talk about. This spring is going to be all about ruffles, colors, and edgy hair, so goodbye minimalism, hello frills!
Starting in London, fashion week kicked off with technology-driven shows. Not only did Burberry team up with Snapchat to offer an exclusive look at the show from all angles, guests were allowed to travel through a series of behind-the-scenes star-studded rooms for Louis Vuitton.
Ruffles were everywhere, were expressed very differently. While Simone Rocha expressed more of a ladylike feel with ruffles, JW Anderson did not hold back when making a very modern statement.
Choker necklaces had their moment in the spotlight and are yet another trend to follow. Choppy, short bangs were something seen on many models and Brits. They may be messy, but they sure are high fashion.
In Milan, Donatella Versace included everyday looks for women while still keeping her looks sexy and rock n’ roll. According to the New York Times Style Magazine, she told reporters that she wants women “not to be fragile, to be fighters.”
For tired show-goers, the ‘For Restless Sleepers’ Spring 2016 Collection is not only fashionable-but oh-so-comfy looking.
Short hair is definitely making a comeback for spring and was seen on so many models in Milan. Buzz cuts are definitely in.
Ending in Paris, fashion week went out with a bang- and lots of floral prints. This trend is definitely something to follow, as it will become not only a defining look for this spring, but it is sure to inspire future looks as well.
Simplicity is totally out the window. Not only did embroidered lace and fluff take over the runway, Chanel’s models were covered in decadent jewelry and accessories.
Flat shoes seemed to dominate, but comfort was definitely not gained at the risk of style. Chanel was all about the Birkenstock- they were even lit up with LED lights.
Between each different fashion week location, there were similarities and differences, but definitely multiple new trends to keep an eye out for in early 2016 spring months.
