The ISU soccer (6-12, 0-8 Big 12) team’s season came to an end Friday night with a 2-0 loss at the hands of Texas Tech.

The Red Raiders kicked off the scoring in the 34th minute with a goal and tacked on another in the 64th minute. The Cyclones were held scoreless, which has been a common occurrence for the Cyclones throughout conference play.

Iowa State suffered with inconsistent play in the non-conference portion of their schedule, where they upset No. 10 Pepperdine, but suffered losses to lesser teams such like North Dakota State.

The Big 12 schedule didn’t provide any help for the struggling Cyclones. The team ended the season 0-8 in Big 12 and scored just one single goal against conference foes. In seven of their eight conference games, the Cyclones were shut out. The Cyclones were outscored 22-1 in conference play.

The Cyclones finished last in the Big 12 standings, meaning they will be the lone team not to qualify for the Big 12 tournament next week.
