Black booties

The black bootie is a classic fall staple and is an essential wardrobe piece. That being said, wearing the same bootie day after day can get a bit excessive. Check out these five daring ways to spice up a black bootie and to throw it into wardrobe rotation this fall:

  • Layer socks and leggings. For students who were gifted with long legs, finding pants that are long enough is everything but easy. Try layering socks and leggings to add a subtle yet warm trick this winter that will keep exposed ankles warm and feet even warmer. Try using shorter socks to avoid adding too much bulk to the ankle area.
  • For students who frequently stick to basic black jeans and black booties, try throwing in a fun and patterned top to offset the all-black bottom half. From plaid to leopard to other bold colors, countless options are available to make this outfit stand out.
  • While it isn’t too cold for tights, try wearing socks and booties. Keep a skirt or dress hemline above the knee, because anything below will end up making legs look too short.
  • Cuff jeans so ankles peak out a bit on warmer fall days. This highlights the skinnier area and will keeps ankles from looking wide. This style looks best with skinny jeans, so avoid straight-legged or boot cut.
  • Tuck skinny jeans into the ankle boots for a leg-lengthening effect. Pair it with an oversized sweater and floppy hat for a night on the town.
  • Since fall weather is anything but consistent, warmer days might be in the forecast. If this is the case, pair booties with a dress and cardigan for an effortless, fun and class-ready look.
  • Countless opportunities exist to style staple black booties this fall. Try a few of the ones listed above or style them on your own. Students can’t go wrong with having a pair of these in their closet.
