Courtney Krause to perform with Dylan Boyle at Mother’s Pub
September 23, 2015
Folk singer and songwriter Courtney Krause will perform alongside local Ames musician Dylan Boyle Thursday from 9 p.m. to midnight at Mother’s Pub.
Originally from Des Moines, Krause has been bringing music to venues around the area. Boyle is known for his singing and blues, folk and progressive rock slide guitar playing.
When asked about her favorite part of performing, Krause said she most enjoyed that her music is “bringing people together. Not just like-minded people but people of all ages, backgrounds and diversities.”
Krause started singing country songs at a young age and started recording and writing her own songs when she was 16 years old.
“We moved all the time, and that led to spending a lot of time with just myself,” Krause said. “I spent that time creatively.”
Krause enjoys performing in Ames and is looking forward to upcoming performances in the area.
“We were impressed right away with how involved the people are as a whole and how much the locals support live music,” Krause said when asked about the local music community.
Boyle is a good friend of Krause and while being interviewed about the upcoming performance he said, “She and I have a really good sound together. It’s a folkier sound and I enjoy playing music with her.”
Krause will be performing a new song entitled “Follow,” which is one of the tracks on her upcoming album. The album will be released at 8 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Gaslamp in Des Moines.
