After day one of the Gopher Invitational, the ISU men’s golf team is tied for fourth out of 16 teams.

Competing at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn., Iowa State and 12 other teams completed their first two rounds, while darkness suspended play for three remaining teams on the course.

As it stands heading into the final day, the Cyclones 21-over-par score of 589 places them 16 shots behind Oklahoma.

After one round, Iowa State was in the lead with a three-over-par 287 as Nick Voke led the individual race at three-under-par.

The winds picked up in round two, as did the scores, as Iowa State limped in with a 302 in round two to drop out of title contention.

Voke’s medalist chances remain afloat, as he stands alone in second place and one stroke back of Oklahoma’s Luke Kwon.
