Rastetter pushes for additional U of I funding
September 7, 2015
Bruce Rastetter, president of the Iowa Board of Regents, said Monday afternoon he will seek out an additional $4.5 million in funding for the University of Iowa for fiscal year 2017.
Rastetter said the push for more funding has come, in part, from a meeting he had with Bruce Harreld, the new president of the University of Iowa.
“After meeting with incoming President Harreld as well as faculty, staff and students, it is clear that additional funding to support the long term reinvestment in the core mission of teaching and research is needed,” Rastetter said.
The request will officially be given during the Board of Regents Sept. 9 meeting in Cedar Falls.
