Funeral service announced for drowned ISU national guardsman

The funeral service for ISU national guardsman Drew Bellairs will be at 10 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa, on Thursday, the Iowa National Guard announced on Tuesday.

Bellairs was serving for the 506th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, when he drowned in Marbo Cave, Mangilao, Guam on July 25.
The burial will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn., at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Drew Bellairs Memorial Fund for the family to re-designate to various charities and organizations.
Bellairs, who had just completed his freshman year in May, majored in criminal justice and was a part of the ISU Skiing Club and ISU Flying Club.
