Individual reported sexual assault near Maricopa Drive
August 13, 2015
An individual reported being sexually assaulted by an acquaintance at an apartment on the 400 block of Maricopa Drive, said ISU Police.
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon, according to a timely warning from the ISU Police Department sent to students and faculty about 2:15 Thursday afternoon.
An investigation is ongoing.
Iowa State is required to send out timely warnings as part of the Clery Act, which requires all colleges and universities to disclose information about crimes on and near the campuses that may present a threat to the safety of the campus community.
Not every sexual assault requires a timely warning, just those that are on and near the campus.
The warning did not state that any individuals involved were students.
