Three Big 12 teams crack the preseason top-25

The Big 12 is considered on of the top conferences in college football, with it’s round-robin format it guarantee’s each team will play every other conference foe each year.
This season three Big 12 teams made the preseason top-25 coaches poll, including two in the top-5.
Topping the list is No. 2 TCU who received a single No. 1 vote. Baylor is No. 4 and Oklahoma was voted to No. 19
Iowa State and TCU will square off in Ames on Oct. 17.
Last season ISU traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, and lost to the Horned Frogs 55-3 in the final game of the season. The Cyclones surrendered 722 yards to the Horned Frogs – 525 through the air and 197 on the ground – while ISU was held to 236 total yards.
At the end of the first half the score was 17-3 in favor of TCU. However, TCU scored on five straight possessions to begin the second half putting the game out of reach for the Cyclones.
ISU will meet Baylor in Waco, Texas, on Oct. 24, the week after facing off against TCU.
The Bears scored 49 points on the Cyclones at Jack Trice Stadium. Baylor racked up 601 total yards, 403 of those were in the first half alone. The Cyclones gained 339 yards for the entire game and scored 21 of their 28 points after the game was out of reach in the second half.
The final team in the top-25 is No. 19 Oklahoma. Iowa State will head to Norman, Okla. to take on the Sooners on Nov. 7.
Oklahoma traveled to Ames last season and beat Iowa State 59-14. The Sooners gained 751 total yards. A trio of 100-plus yard Oklahoma ball carriers combined for 510 yards on the ground. ISU gained 334 total yards with 247 of those coming through the air.
Four other Big 12 schools received votes: Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Texas and West Virginia.
