Gabe Moreno suspended indefinitely following OWI arrest
July 11, 2015
Iowa State grappler Gabe Moreno has been suspended indefinitely following an OWI arrest.
An OWI arrest violates the student-athlete code of conduct.
“We are aware of Gabe Moreno’s arrest,” said ISU wrestling coach Kevin Jackson in a statement. “We are disappointed in his actions and take these matters very seriously. Gabe has been suspended indefinitely from the team under the student-athlete code of conduct policy.”
The suspension came down Saturday morning, following the arrest which occurred Friday evening.
Moreno completed his redshirt sophomore season with a 26-7 record this past season and qualified for the NCAA championship.
