Recipe of the Week: Firecracker Cookies

If you want something quick, easy and patriotic to bring to your family’s Independence Day get-together, these cookies are perfect.
Firecracker Cookies, adapted from Cookin’ Cowgirl: Makes approximately 30 cookies.
Ingredients
- 1 box French vanilla cake mix, about 18.25 ounces
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup red sprinkles
- 1/2 cup blue sprinkles
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix together cake mix and baking powder. In a separate bowl, mix together eggs, oil and vanilla. Combine the two mixtures.
- Stir in both colors of sprinkles. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool for five minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
