Three former ISU players suit up for the Bulls in summer league

The Las Vegas NBA summer league kicked off on July 10, featuring two former ISU basketball players in its opening day: DeAndre Kane of the Atlanta Hawks and Bryce Dejean-Jones of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Dejean-Jones was first to take the court as he put up four points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal during a 101-89 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Kane was up next as the Hawks faced the Denver Nuggets.

In a loss against the Nuggets, Kane scored two points and tallied three assists and two rebounds.

The second day of the league doubled the amount of former ISU basketball players with Dejan-Jones, Tyus McGee, Diante Garrett and Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg taking the court.

Dejean-Jones put up 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals to lead his team to a four-point victory over the Dallas Mavericks in his second game this summer.

All three other ISU alumni suited up for the Bulls. 

In his debut as the Chicago head coach, Hoiberg helped lead the Bulls to 84-71 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In that win, Garrett recorded seven points, three rebounds and two assists while McGee tallied three points, four rebounds and one assist for the Bulls.

Hoiberg, Garrett and McGee will take the floor once again at 5 p.m. on July 12 against the Toronto Raptors while Kane and the Hawks will face off against the Golden State Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on July 12.

Dejean-Jones and the Pelicans will have the day off on July 12.
