The Ames Police Department has released the names of those involved in the Ames shooting that occurred at 1 a.m. June 20. 

According to a press release, the victim was identified as Mason Turner, 23, of Burlington City, N.J. The man who fired shots was identified as Jacob Lumley, 23, of Ames. 

The incident occurred at 1421 Idaho Ave. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his head. He was pronounced to be dead at the scene by medical personnel.  

Lumley and a witness were interviewed by investigators and later released. The investigation into the shooting continues by the Ames Police and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
