According to a City of Ames press release, the 100 block of Welch Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 13, in conjunction with construction work on the new Kingland Systems building at 2422 Lincoln Way. The closure is necessary for the installation of mechanical units on the roof of the building, a crane will be used on Welch Avenue to lift the units into place.

The closure was approved by the Ames City Council as required by Municipal Code for street closings affecting CyRide routes. During the closure, Fire Station No. 2 will temporarily reroute trucks south onto Chamberlain Street. Because the work is being done on Saturdayit will not cause any conflicts with CyRide.
