Roundabout construction to start on University Boulevard
June 15, 2015
Construction on University Boulevard will begin Monday, according to City of Ames officials.
Work will start at the intersection of University Boulevard, Airport Road, and Oakwood Road and proceed south approximately one-half mile. The University Boulevard project includes the extension of the street, as well as the installation of three roundabouts and pedestrian facilities.
During construction, drivers in the area should expect periods of closures for east and westbound traffic along the Airport Road and Oakwood Road. However, north and southbound traffic along University Boulevard will be maintained at all times.
Also, bike and pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times on the shared use path. When traveling through the construction zone, bikers and pedestrians should use caution and be aware of marked detours and construction traffic.
Those with questions about the project may contact City of Ames representative, Eric Cowles, at 515-239-5277 or the project manager, Tyler Busch with Manatt’s Inc. of Brooklyn, at 641-990-3497. For additional
