Former Florida governor and Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush will headline the fifth annual Judge Joseph Story Dinner, the Story County Republican Party announced Tuesday evening.

The dinner will take place at Prairie Moon Winery, 3801 W 190th St. in Ames on Monday, July 13. Doors for the event open at 5:30 p.m.

Bush, who announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination earlier this month and was in Iowa following his announcement, will make several other stops in the state during his July visit.

The annual dinner honors former U.S. Supreme Court Judge Joseph Story, who served from 1811-1815 and is the namesake of Story County.

“We are thrilled to give Story County voters a chance to see Gov. Jeb Bush. Gov. Bush was a very successful and popular governor who instituted significant conservative reforms while governor of the state of Florida,” said Brett Barker, chairman of the Story County GOP.

Bush will also attend a private VIP ceremony at Prairie Moon Winery before dinner. A limited number of tickets are available for the private ceremony and cost $100.
