ISU point guard Monte Morris has been invited to tryout for USA Basketball’s Pan American Games team on July 7 to 9 in Colorado Springs, Colo., an ISU press release said Thursday.

The tryout will include professional players not under an NBA contract and college players, according to the release.

“It is a great honor to be given the opportunity to represent our country by trying out for this team,” Morris said in the release. “I have been pushing myself to the limit every day and I am going to try and seize the moment.”

Morris played in all 34 games for the Cyclones last season and averaged 11.9 points per game. He led the Big 12 in assists per game with 5.2, which contributed to his second-team All-Big 12 honors.

The Pan American Games are slated to begin July 21 and last until July 25 in Toronto, Canada.
