Iowa State split its doubleheader April 25 against Baylor.
To kick off the two-game set, the Cyclones fell in the hole early when Baylor freshman Shelby Friudenberg brought home sophomore Lindsey Cargill in the first. The scoring subsided until the sixth when Baylor senior Jordan Strickland hit home freshman Caitlin Charlton to give the Bears an insurance run.
The final score for the first game was 2-0 in favor of Baylor. The second game was a different story.
The Cyclones attacked first when junior Aly Cappaert hit an RBI single that brought home Brittany Gomez in the opening inning. The scoring did not stop there, as Maddie Reese blasted home Cappaert and gave Iowa State a 2-0 lead.
Just like the first game, the scoring subsided until the sixth when senior Jorden Spendlove brought home freshman Kaila Konz. Later, freshman Kelsey McFarland hit home Reese to give the Cyclones a 4-0 lead.
The Cyclone went onto beat the Bears 4-1.
