Candle light vigil honors thousands dead from Nepal earthquake
April 30, 2015
About 100 people from the ISU and Ames community gathered Thursday, April 30, on Central Campus to remember the almost 6,000 who died in the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal with a candle light vigil. The earthquake occurred Saturday, April 25, but aftershocks continue to shake the country. The Nepal Student Association hosted the event. About two-thirds in attendance were from Nepal. The organization also collected donations at the vigil. An online relief fund has also been opened.
