Netflix vs. Amazon Prime

Dalton Gackle

We all know about Netflix. College would not be the same without it.

Yet, what if I told you that you could have more awesome shows and movies, and that many of you already have them and might not even realize it?

That’s right, as a student, you might have taken advantage of the Amazon Prime student account to get some textbook discounts. What you might not know is that the account also includes hundreds of movies and plenty of TV shows.

Prime has many of the same movies and shows that Netflix does, and then there are the ones that Prime has and Netflix does not.

For example, I watched “The Spectacular Now” recently. If you’re feeling nostalgic, you might want to re-watch the first two seasons of “Spongebob Squarepants.” I already did.

It is true, however, that Netflix has more, but what Prime has is a good selection.

Prime also has all those cheesy drive-in flicks that you can make fun of or use to fill the screen with while you spend time with a significant other.

Also, Netflix costs around $120 a year. Prime is only $50, and don’t forget, Prime is already primarily for discounts on products and free shipping for Amazon products.

I would not give up on Netflix, though. It does have a larger variety than Prime. There are now more opportunities for couch-surfing with both Netflix and Amazon Prime.
