Five takeaways from ISU men’s golf runner-up finish in Arizona

1. After taking second place out of 14 teams at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational, No. 48 Iowa State improved its comparative record on the season to 100-25-2.
2. Iowa State recorded its fourth runner-up finish of the season in nine events. Dating back to last season, the team has finished runner-up nine times.
3. Sophomore Nick Voke led the team by finishing in third out of 78 golfers . Either Voke or senior Scott Fernandez, who followed Voke by tying for 11th place, has led the Cyclones in six of nine events.
4. Voke has finished no worse than 33rd on the season and has placed on the upper-half of the leaderboard in all nine events.
5. Iowa State placed ahead of in-state rival No. 43 Iowa, the alma mater of ISU coach Andrew Tank, No. 105 Minnesota and No. 14 Baylor.
