ISU freshman swimmer Kasey Roberts has been named Big 12 Newcomer of The Year in women’s swimming and diving.

Roberts, who swims breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle, and individual medley for Iowa State, had an impressive first season with the Cyclones.

She set three personal records at the Big 12 swimming and diving championships. She set new personal records in the 100-breast at 1:01.38, 200-breast at 2:11.82, and in the 200-individual medley with a time of 2:00.29.

The 200-breast and the 20- individual medley became all-time records at Iowa State as well.

Roberts also finished in the top five in five swimming categories this year for the Cyclones.
