Eco Fair to happen this Saturday
April 2, 2015
The annual Ames Eco Fair will be held this weekend to teach Ames residents about how to be more environmentally friendly.
The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Community Center Gymnasium at 515 Clark Ave.
The Eco Fair will give Ames residents information about water conservation, reducing electric consumption, low impact landscaping and sustainable practices.
The Community Center Gymnasium will be filled with booths, vendors, activities and displays that will teach Ames residents how to recycle and be more environmentally friendly in their daily lives. There will also be activities for children.
Those who attend can register to win prizes that will help them conserve. Students from Ames Middle School, a group from the Octagon Center for the Arts and city of Ames staff also painted rain barrels to be given away as a prize.
