Starting an on-campus club is a surprisingly easy endeavor. The Student Activities Center offers a step-by-step process online, at sac.iastate.edu, to be officially recognized as an organization on campus.

Benefits of having an authorized club on campus, according to policy.iastate.edu, include:

• More visibility and recognition via the Student Org’s webpage

• Ability to advertise using Cy in ads and logos

• Use of Iowa State’s name

• Activities displayed on ISU’s activity calendar

• Purchasing privileges

• Eligibility for usage of university resources

Requirements to become an official student organization include:

• Must have at least five members

• Must file a constitution online

• Constitution must be approved

• Must have a president and a treasurer

• Must have an adviser

• Must have an updated compliance agreement form with signatures
