An Ames Fire Department firefighter surveys the insulation on the second floor of a home after a fire broke out late Sunday night at 1322 Illinois Ave. in west Ames. The Ames Fire Department and Ames Police Department responded to the fire. The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Neighbors said two of the three roommates got out of the house, but it was unclear if the third roommate was home or not.
