Five drunken foods for adventurous taste buds

1. Alcoholic Pizza
Boston chef Victor Paone invented what appears to be the first alcohol-infused pizza in 2012. Though it’s only featured at Salvatore’s in Boston, you can try to make it at home by soaking your pizza toppings in alcohol and/or infusing it with the pizza sauce.
2. Lollyphile.com
This monster of a business sells lollipops of all tastes and alcohol levels. Some flavors include Chardonnay (and other wines), Strawberry Basil Mojito, Strawberry-Banana Daiquiri, Bourbon, Irish Cream and Absinthe. Along with alcohol-infused pops, Lollyphile also features lollipops such as Green Tea, Sriracha Bacon, Breast Milk and Blue Cheese.
3. Fruit Loop Treats
This one is pretty simple: all you have to do is prepare the fruit loop treat as per usual, but add alcohol into the marshmallow/butter mixture before you fold in the cereal. The same concept generally goes for alcohol-infused brownies, cupcakes, pudding shots, et cetera. Go about your recipe and add in the alcohol of choice whenever it seems appropriate.
4. Mercer’s Wine Ice Cream
Located in Boonville, N.Y., Mercer’s produces eight different types of wine ice cream. The company is nationally and internationally recognized, and — ironic as it is — the company is made up entirely of females (lol). I wouldn’t suggest making your own homemade wine ice cream, so hit up Mercer’s for some of the wine-y goodness as soon as the online store is up and running.
5. Gummies
One “safe” alcohol-related food-y item is infusing gummies or other candy with alcohol. You simply toss the sugary treats in a bowl of alcohol, let it soak and wah-lah. It’s a good idea to not let your treats soak too long to avoid sogginess, and another tip is to throw some plain juice in with the alcohol to make the treats less harsh to consume.
