Spring is almost here, folks, and it’s time to prepare for the changing weather. When we’re on campus, we rely on our backpacks as the holder of the goods. Everything you need for the day is stashed away in the various zippers and compartments of your stack, so you need to pack appropriately.

Apart from your obvious school supplies, there are plenty of other things the springtime-ready backpack should have. First of all, it’s a good idea to pack some tissues. They have those little travel-size packages that work great. Spring means allergies for tens of thousands of students, so be ready. With this, you might want to stash away some Tylenol or allergy medicine in case you get hit by your allergies while on campus.

Sunglasses are essential. There’s little more miserable than being blinded by the sun while strolling to your next class. Eye strain can lead to headaches and is just a pain in general. Buy a spare pair of sunglasses and always have them on hand.

Ladies, be prepared for hot weather that requires up-done hair. Ponytail holders, bobby pins and headbands are always a good idea to stash in the deep-downs of your bag.

The hot weather can also foster a need for deodorant and/or smelly spritzy spray. Travel-size bottles of cologne, deodorant, perfume, hairspray and whatever else make freshening up on the go convenient.

Some other things that can be kept in your bag for any season include: extra pens, a notepad, spare change, lotion, hand sanitizer, lip gloss and/or Chapstick, a small mirror, basic first aid supplies and feminine hygiene products.
