Iowa State announced changes to future non-conference football schedules that will allow for seven home games during four of the next five years beginning in 2016.

The first schedule change eliminates the home-and-home agreement with San Jose State in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. The teams will play at Jack Trice Stadium on Sept. 24, 2016, but will not play in 2017, mutually agreed upon by both parties.

The change also prompted a rescheduling of the home-and-home series with Akron. The Cyclones will now travel to Akron on Sept. 23, 2017 instead of the originally planned 2019 date. Iowa State will host the Zips the following season on Sept. 22, 2018.

The Cyclones also added home games with Louisiana-Monroe, a Sun Belt Conference member, for a game in 2019, and FCS Southeast Missouri State in 2022.
