The ISU softball team continued its offensive momentum in the Rebel Classic against Eastern Kentucky.

Both teams went scoreless through the first two innings, until the Cyclones put up four runs in the third. The Cyclones scored on a two-run home run by senior Maddie Reese, junior Aly Cappaert  knocking home freshman Kalia Konz, and by freshman Nychole Antillon bringing home Cappaert.

Eastern Kentucky countered the Cyclones four-run inning with its own four-run inning in the bottom of the third.

The tie was short lived as Reese brought home senior Jorden Spendlove, sophomore Rachel Hartman hitting home senior Lexi Slater, and by Cappaert knocking home Reese to make the score 7-4 in favor of the Cyclones.

Iowa State added onto its lead when Slater scored on a wild pitch in the sixth to extend the lead to 8-4.

Eastern Kentucky attempted to make a comeback by scoring two runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh, but ultimately fell to the Cyclones 8-7.

Iowa State attempts to keep on rolling when it takes on Boston University at 10:15 a.m. Friday at the Michele Smith Spring Break Tournament in Tampa, Fla.
