PHOTOS: Winter Storm Linus blankets campus in snow, students play

During the evening of Jan. 31, students took to the app, Yik Yak, to plan a massive snowball fight on Central Campus. The fight was scheduled for 9:30 p.m. after it had been snowing most of the day. More than 200 students showed up to the event, ready to pelt strangers with snowballs. Some students even brought props such as foam swords and cardboard shields. A few people hid in trees to pelt unsuspecting passer-byes, although the tree-dwellers were soon targeted themselves. Other students on Central Campus took advantage of the fresh snow by creating massive snow sculptures. One group put a giant snowman inside the Campanile.

Winter Storm Linus left more than 10 inches of snow on the ground over January 31-February 1. More than 200 ISU students met on Central Campus for a massive snowball fight on Saturday night. The cold temperatures didn’t discourage more students from playing in the new snowfall on Sunday.
