By the numbers: Cyclone Hockey splits with Bronchos

Cyclone Hockey managed a split against the No. Central Oklahoma Bronchos with a 5-4 win and a 2-1 loss on Jan. 30 and 31 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

Here are some numbers from the weekend.

3-9-3: Cyclone Hockey’s record against top-ten opponents this season going into the Central Oklahoma series. It would move to 4-10-3 after splitting the weekend against the No. 2 team in the nation.

14.1: How much time was left on the clock when Preston Blanek scored the goal to give his team the lead and eventually the win Jan. 30. He had a shot similar to it before in the game but shot it wide.

3: Players that the Cyclones have now lost. Zack Johnson left the game on Jan. 30 due to an upper-body injury. The time table for his return is not known. J.P. Kascsak and Matt Cooper have left for Spain to play for team U.S.A. in the 2015 World University Games.
