Become a SEXpert: a couple bedroom tips
February 12, 2015
Valentine’s Day is around the corner and it’s time to feel the love. For couples across the nation, it’s one of the highlight nights of the year. But what about the other 364 nights? It’s pretty easy to get freaky and try something crazy one night — maybe twice, for a birthday— a year, but spicing things up on any other average day can be tricky.
Most couples don’t want to venture too far out of the comfort zone on any given night, which is absolutely understandable. Pushing the bill for V-Day is one thing, but spicing up a random Tuesday is another. Here are a couple pretty safe ideas on adding some zest to your bedroom, whether it’s for your Valentine or otherwise.
Sex toys can be a bit much for the typical couple if they get too technical and/or invasive. Smaller sex toys, like a ring or a vibrator, can be a good time if used in moderation. You can also try bringing in some baby oil if you feel like getting a little kinky, but beware the mess associated with dribbling oil all over your bed.
Candles always set some type of a mood, whether you want your place to feel homey, mysterious or sexy. The right lighting can spark the right feelings and get things off on the right foot. Pair the dim lighting with a spontaneous blindfold and you’ve got yourself a little adventure.
Outfits for women can be fun and crazy. They range from nurse to police officer to pure lace to not much fabric at all. You may not feel ready to take that plunge by yourself, so it may be best to talk with your partner before dropping the cash on an outfit. It would be a sad situation to have a pricey piece of lingerie get rejected by your bae.
Typical sex includes two people and a bed complete with all the linens. Try removing all the pillows, sheets and comforters. Have your bed as open as possible, almost like a movie set. This simple thing in itself can make the experience that much more enjoyable.
You could also venture outside the bedroom or get creative in it. Take it from the table to the couch to over the counter to the shower and back. Doing something as simple as adding a kitchen chair to your bedroom “routine” can spice up your night.
Just like with baby oil, there are plenty of other messy alternatives to let loose with. It can be fun and exciting to get a little messy with your bedroom adventures — not the “bad” messy either. Every once in awhile —maybe when you stay in a hotel to avoid the mess — bring in some chocolate syrup, whipped cream and/or those chocolate crayons from sex stores that you can “write” on your partner with. It may be a sticky mess, but, hey, we bathe and sheets can be washed.
All those edible things are great for foreplay, as is using ice cubes on your partner’s skin. Getting crazy with the sex “pre-game” can be a big part of the fun night. Try and avoid things that take it too far though, like the pop rock blowjob. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not widely held that those are enjoyable.
One last tip: no matter how lazy you feel, always shave completely and lotion yourself up. If you’re ready for a rocking night, put some effort into yourself. Most everyone appreciates a little thoughtfulness and your night could be that much better.
