The ISU men’s and women’s track and field teams sent a total of 15 athletes to the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational. 

Redshirt senior Anna Holtermann highlighted day one of the two-day event for the women’s team with a personal record in the weight throw. 

The men’s team followed up Holtermann’s performance with two personal records in the mile. Redshirt freshman Jason Thomas posted a career-best time of 4:16.29 and junior Brandon Wheat recorded a 4:09.10 time.

In the field events, freshman Jhoanmy Luque and redshirt freshman Katie Reeves set top-10 performances in their respected events for the women’s team. Luque placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.52 meters. Reeves placed ninth in the high jump with a mark of 1.68 meters. 

The men’s and women’s teams will next compete at the Iowa State Classic in Ames on Feb. 13 and 14.
