Top five life upgrades to make during Lent
February 18, 2015
Whether you are Catholic, Christian or otherwise, giving up a bad habit or forming a new good habit can improve your life. You may have long forgotten your New Year’s resolution, so now is a good time to reevaluate your habits, even if you aren’t part of a religion that participates in Lent.
1. Give up the guilty goodies
Stop eating the late night snack, giving in to stress chocolate, eating out all the time or whatever your guilty goody may be.
2. Improve your vocab
Flush away the potty mouth, learn a new word or up your texting game.
3. Perform a good deed
Hold the door for someone, scrape someone’s car for them, buy a stranger’s coffee on your Caribou run or give grandma a call.
4. Look up from the phone
Limit your social media use and texting, especially during class or other situations where it’s distracting you from what you’re suppose to be doing. You never know what you’re missing out on.
5. Be scholastic
Do the simple things to improve in the classroom — visit a professor during office hours, ask a question in class or stop procrastinating.
