Sophomore Talisa Merchiers is transferring from Iowa State to an undetermined school due to playing time.

Merchiers signed her papers Feb. 20, confirming the transfer and she is in the process of looking at other schools to finish her college tennis career.

Coach Armando Espinosa confirmed her decision to transfer and wished her luck.

“The Iowa State tennis program is sad to see a player leave, but we wish her luck for her future college tennis career,” Espinosa said.

With this transfer, the ISU tennis team currently has nine players on its roster, with two being redshirted this season.

Merchiers was the number six singles player for the first three matches this season and had a record of 5-5 in singles and 6-6 in doubles throughout the fall and spring season.
