Winter storm warning in effect
February 25, 2015
Ames is part of a winter storm warning in effect for Central Iowa until 9 p.m. tonight.
The National Weather Service estimates about six to nine inches of snowfall.
Winds will be about 10 mph throughout the day, reaching up to 20 mph toward early evening.
During periods of heavy snow, visibility could be a mile or less.
Winds and drifting snow could lead to difficult driving conditions even after the snowfall has ended.
Basically, you shouldn’t drive too far, but you should still go to class.
