January is national stalking awareness month. If you ever feel as if you are being stalked, there are a few numbers for you to call for assistance.
Stalking is the unwanted and often obsessive attention given to a person without their consent, according to nobullying.com.

There are a variety of types of stalkers, including:
- Intimacy – Where the stalker firmly intends to have a relationship with the stalked victim regardless of that person’s wishes.
- Incompetent – often someone who was rejected by a woman and then is determined their stalk-like persistence will win her over
- Resentful – believes he has been treated unfairly or humiliated by the victim; they thrive on a sense of power and control over the victim with their stalking
- Predatory – where the stalker achieves pleasure from researching information and details about their target in preparation for the assault
