Stanford swimmer allegedly rapes woman in public

State record-holder, three-time All-American high school swimmer and Stanford freshman student athlete, Brock Allen Turner, was arrested Jan. 27 following his alleged public rape of a woman on Stanford’s campus. Turner was charged with five felonies Jan. 28.
According to People.com, Turner faces one count of rape of an intoxicated person, one count of rape of a victim unconscious of the nature of the act, one count of sexual penetration when the victim was intoxicated or anesthetized, one count of sexual penetration where the victim was unconscious of the nature of the act and one count of assault with intent to commit felony.
After midnight Jan. 25, two bikers came across the unconscious woman and a man on top of her. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the man ran away but was chased and restrained by the two bikers until police officers arrived.
The Chronicle also reported that the woman is not a student and is being treated at a local hospital.
Turner withdrew from Stanford after he was arrested Jan. 27. According to the Los Angeles Times, Stanford spokeswoman Lisa Lapin said that Turner is “not allowed to register for classes and is barred from setting foot on campus.”
